About

David is a passionate educator and senior leader based in London, England, dedicated to promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion and diversity within the education system. His commitment stems from his personal experiences as a gay man who came out and was educated during the challenging times of Section 28.

With a successful career as a primary school teacher and senior leader, David has witnessed the transformative power of inclusive education firsthand. He firmly believes that every child and member of staff, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, deserves a safe and affirming learning environment. This belief has driven him to work collaboratively with schools and youth organisations, going beyond statutory guidance, to create truly inclusive cultures which foster a sense of belonging for LGBTQ+ students and staff.

Through his advocacy efforts and contributions to queer education, David has made significant strides in challenging heteronormativity and effecting positive change within the education system. David is committed to supporting organisations that work directly with children and young people on their journey towards LGBTQ+ inclusivity.

Leveraging his expertise in education, senior leadership experience, and successful management of external scrutiny, such as Ofsted and Stonewall’s School Champion Award programme, he provides strategic support to help organisations create safe, inclusive spaces for all students and staff, where the culture and ethos of an organisation can surpass mere compliance and truly embed LGBTQ+ inclusivity into the very fabric of an organisation.

Regardless of your starting point, David is available to support you on your journey towards LGBTQ+ inclusivity. Feel free to reach out to him via email at david@queered.co.uk or calling 07742 725128.
